Remembering Bollywood
Remembering Bollywood is the brainchild of our immensely talented Creative Art Director, Mona Qazi, and was generously funded by the Big Lottery in Birmingham. With a passion for Bollywood storytelling, Mona collaborated with the renowned dance artist, MRBOLLYWOOD, to curate a project centered around the nostalgic allure of Indian cinema and music.
The project was specifically designed to engage individuals over the age of 50, particularly those affected by mental health challenges and dementia, at Apna Ghar and Asha House in Birmingham. It aimed to provide a welcoming space for isolated individuals to forge new connections and rekindle cherished memories through the magic of film and music.
The initiative proved to be a resounding success, enabling participants to form meaningful new friendships while reminiscing about the golden era of Bollywood. Through shared experiences and the evocative power of cinema and music, “Remembering Bollywood” not only brought joy and companionship to those involved but also served as a heartwarming testament to the enduring impact of cultural storytelling.
